Mercedes-Benz India has announced a price hike which comes into effect from September 1, 2018. The increase would be up to 4% and is due to "geo-political dynamics, coupled with rising input costs and upward forex movement", the company said in a statement. The rupee has depreciated by more than 5% against the Euro, it added.
Mercedes-Benz India's portfolio includes compact cars such as the Mercedes A-Class, B-Class and CLA, the sedan range includes the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S Class, the SUV range has the GLA, GLC, GLE and GLS Class, the C-Class cabriolet and S-Class cabriolet in the cabriolet segment and finally the Mercedes-AMG range includes the CLA 45 4 MATIC, C 43 4 MATIC, C 63 S, E 63 S 4 MATIC+, GLA 45 4 MATIC, GLS 63 4MATIC, G 63 4MATIC, S 63 Coupe, GLE 43 Coupe, GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe, SLC 43, AMG GT-R Roadster and the flagship AMG GT-R.
The Stuttgart-based luxury carmaker will soon enter the estate segment with the launch of the E Class All Terrain estate. The E Class All Terrain estate will rival the Volvo V90 Cross Country in India, and will also introduce Mercedes's BS6 compliant OM654 2.0-liter diesel engine.

Other launches that will keep the Indian unit of the German car maker busy include the Mercedes C-Class facelift (expected in October 2018), the all-new Mercedes A-Class (expected by mid-2019) and the all-new Mercedes-AMG G 63 performance SUV (expected by mid-2019). Globally, Mercedes is readying the next-gen B-Class and a first-ever GLB SUV.
