A modified Jawa Forty-Two from Bombay Custom Works has caught our attention today. The retro-style motorcycle comes with a visual overhaul in the form of a cafe racer.

The front fascia retains the spherical headlight design, although it gets a cross sticker design. The round blinkers have been retained on the modified motorcycle. The stock front fender has been traded for a compact, custom unit although it retains the stripe design that is also seen on the standard bike.
The asymmetrically-mounted instrument control continues to occupy the cockpit although a clip-on style unit has replaced the flat, single-piece handlebar. The new handlebar also sits lower than the factory-installed unit for forward-leaning ergonomics.
The stock fuel tank stays as the part of the package and you would see the Jawa branding on the sides and a chrome filler cap on the top. The top of the tank also gets a new Jawa tag. The saddle, however, gets an overhaul. The seat cover gets a ribbed pattern for a more premium look. A rear cowl, which enhances the cafe racer look of the motorcycle, replaces the pillion seat.
The tail section of the motorcycle gets even clear changes and the stoplight is integrated into the rear cowl. The rear fender has been removed for a cleaner, sportier look while the number plate on the back hangs on to a new mount.
The motorcycle adopts a black theme and all the parts on the Forty-Two have been given a black finish. Thus, you would notice a black treatment to the wire spokes, front fork tubes, engine and the exhaust pipes.
The hardware specifications have remained unaltered and the motorcycle continues to use conventional telescopic forks and twin-sided springs to perform the shock absorption tasks. The motorcycle in the photograph is the front disc/single-channel ABS variant of the motorcycle and thus you would spot a drum brake on the rear wheel. The front disc is retained from the stock Jawa Forty-Two.
Propelling tasks are continued to be performed by the 293 cc fuel-injected, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 27.37 PS of max power and 28 Nm of max torque. The motor is certified by ARAI to return 37.5 km/l.

While the all-black Jawa Forty-Two may take you to the aftermarket paint shops, the Perak Bobber will roll out with a black colour right from the factory. The bookings for the Perak Bobber would start post-September this year.
