KTM may have kept the 250 Adventure away from the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy but the motorcycle has been listed on the company’s Indonesian website. One of the reasons behind the absence of the 250 Adventure from the EICMA motorcycle show could be the fact that the motorcycle will not be sold in the European market.

The 250 Adventure sits in a place below the 390 Adventure, and thus it misses out on several premium components such as the LED headlight, adjustable front forks and Bluetooth-enabled display. Instead, the front fascia comprises a halogen headlight with LED DRLs. The suspension department features 43 mm, WP APEX inverted front forks with 170 mm travel rating and a preload-adjustable WP APEX rear mono-shock with 177 mm travel rating.
The motorcycle features a TFT display that seems to be identical to the unit on the 390 Adventure. However, the software tab on the product page does not list KTM MY RIDE as an optional extra, and thus the 250 Adventure most likely misses Bluetooth connectivity.
Similar to the 390 Adventure, the 250 Adventure is based on the quarter-litre Duke series motorcycle. Thus, the adventure model features a bolted, trellis sub-frame and a die-cast, open-lattice swingarm. The wheel layout is identical to the 390 Adventure's, and the quarter-litre version also comes equipped with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloys. The Indonesia-spec model is equipped with MRF Mogrip Meteor-FM2 tyres – 100/90-19 front and 130/80-17 rear. The fuel tank, similar to the 390 Adventure, carries a 14.5-litre capacity. The seat height is on the taller side (858 mm), which would be a major concern of some riders.
Braking setup includes a 320 mm disc with four-piston radially mounted calliper at the front and a 230 mm rotor at the back with a single-piston floating calliper at the back. Bosch sourced dual-channel ABS is part of the package. The 250 Adventure features an Off-Road mode that turns off the ABS at the back, although it may not be possible to disengage the system completely.
The 250 Adventure shares its engine with the 250 Duke. Thus, propelling tasks are performed by a 248.8 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor that pumps out 22 kW or 29.5 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 24 Nm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a slipper clutch. The motorcycle is equipped with two catalytic converters and the fuel tank ventilation system (EVAP system).
The list of PowerParts for the 250 Adventure will be identical to the 390 Adventure, except for the Bluetooth module. Thus, the list will include:
- Rekluse Radius X Centrifugal Force Clutch Kit
- Crash bungs (to protect the front forks)
- Headlight protection
- Wave brake disc
- Brake lever
- Clutch lever
- Handlebar pad
- Cool cover seat covers
- Ergo pillion seat
- Optional windscreen with two lengths
- Touratec phone mounts
- Smartphone bracket and case
- GPS bracket
- Rear bags
- Tank bags
- Top case
- Side bag carrier
- Side bag set
