The 2019 Suzuki Ciaz for South Africa will be based on the facelift that has just launched in India.

Currently, the Suzuki Ciaz in South Africa comes with a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 95 PS and a peak torque of 130 Nm. However, the facelift will feature the all-new K15B 1.5-litre engine that will output 104 PS and 138 Nm. The engine gets the SHVS mild-hybrid technology. Like the Indian version, the South African Ciaz will be available with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. It is likely to go on sale in three trims - GL, GLX, GLX AT.

The facelift will download all its updates from the Indian car. The new Suzuki Ciaz for South Africa will offer a sleeker grille and a bolder bumper with some chrome embellishments. The headlamps will be new, carrying a LED projector setup and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). In the side profile, the mid-size sedan will get new dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it will feature updated taillights and chrome trim for the bumper.

On the inside, the Ciaz will get an upholstery change and Birch Blonde faux wood trim. It will have a new instrument console that will carry a 4.2-inch TFT Multi-Information Display (MID) and an “eco illumination” function that will change the colour of the speedometer based on the driving style. The South African model will get an all-black colour theme for the cabin.
