After the Yamaha MT-15, the Yamaha MT-25 is due for a facelift now. The good folks at TMC Blog report that the facelifted Yamaha MT-25 will feature a headlamp unit similar to that of the facelifted Yamaha MT-15 and an upside-down fork, which is another feature available on the latter.
Regular readers will remember that even the Yamaha R25 was launched with a standard, right side down fork in 2014. The faired quarter-litre motorcycle was later upgraded and fitted with an upside-down fork. Seeing the pattern of upgrades on the R25, the rear section of the naked MT-25 may remain unchanged.
At present, the Yamaha MT-25 is powered by a 250 cc liquid cooled, DOHC, twin cylinder engine. The powerplant can squeeze out 36 PS of power and 22.6 Nm of torque. It is suspended over 41 mm fork at the front and an adjustable (preload-only) monoshock in the rear. The bike tips the scales at 165 kg and has a 14-litre fuel tank.
Apart from this, the updated version of Yamaha MT-25 is expected to share the all-digital instrumentation seen in the R25. It would be great if Yamaha adds a slip and assist clutch. Apart from this, one can expect new styling with fresh decals and colour coding.

Yamaha has evolved the design language of the MT series of bikes (MT-09 and MT-10) with sharp lines. A sharper looking MT-25 will also trickle down to the Yamaha MT-03. The company might also go on and bring in a major upgrade to the motorcycle and introduce Variable Valve Actuation technology. This will allow the motorcycle to have ample amounts of usable power at all engine speeds.
Yamaha India has recently launched the Yamaha MT-15 in India and has no plans to launch the Yamaha MT-25.
