The Volkswagen Passat Alltrack has been unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the new Passat Estate, the Alltrack version sits 27.5 mm higher and the off-road capable estate gets stainless-steel underbody guard, anodised silver roof rails, distinctive 17-inch alloy wheels and "Alltrack" badges on the radiator grille and tailgate.
Like other adventure versions of Volkswagen cars, the Passat Alltrack features plastic cladding that starts below the front bumpers and follows along the sides on to the wheel arches and the rear bumper.
The Alltrack version's off-road capabilities are further enhanced with a modified chassis, modified assistance systems and the combination of EDS (Electronic Differential Lock), XDS+ and 4Motion permanent all-wheel drive.
Volkswagen offers a number of optional equipments and features for this version - Active Info Display, head-up display, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Rear Traffic Alert, Trailer Assist and Media Control rear seat information system for tablet computers.
Five Euro-6 compliant direct injection engines are offered on the Passat Alltrack. The petrol turbocharged engine choices include 150 PS (148 hp) and 220 PS (217 hp) TSI engines, while the turbo diesel engine choices include 150 PS (148 hp), 190 PS (187 hp) and 240 PS (237 hp) TDI engines. Engine stop-start and Brake Energy Regeneration systems are standard.
