To boost the sales during the festive season, Piaggio India has announced special benefits for Vespa and Aprilia scooters. Under a ‘Funtabulous Offer’. the company has announced benefits worth INR 10,000 on both, Vespa (SXL125, SXL150, VXL 125, VXL150 and Elegante) and Aprilia (SR 125, SR 150 and SR 150 Race) range of two-wheelers. The recently launched Aprilia Storm and Vespa Urban Club are also available with the benefits of the ‘Funtabulous Offer’. The offer is valid from August to October.

Under the special festive season offer, customers can enjoy five years free warranty, which includes two years of comprehensive warranty and three years of extended warranty. The list of benefits also includes free ‘On Road Assist’ and labour free service for the first year of purchase. PayTM benefits worth INR 6,000 are part of the offer as well. Additionally, Vespa and Aprilia consumers can benefit from free insurance worth up to INR 4,000. All 125 cc models get five years of third-party free insurance. All 150 cc models, on the other hand, get insurance benefits.

Piaggio India has also revised the prices of the Vespa and Aprilia scooters. The Aprilia scooters have got expensive by up to INR 1,674. The Vespa vehicles have received an increase of up to INR 2,724. The festive season offer will provide some solace against the recent price increase.

While the recent price increase wasn’t too big, the ex-showroom tags will go up considerably higher with the BS-VI upgrade. The scooters will require the addition of fuel injection technology and other sensors to comply with the more stringent BS-VI emission norms. While there isn’t an official comment on the extent of the price increase, we expect to see a 10-15% hike over the current ex-showroom levels. The BS-VI models are expected to arrive by the end of 2019.
