Will be unveiled in Summer 2016 (June-August 2016).

Renault debuted the fourth generation Renault Scenic at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show last month with a completely new design that follows the brand's design identity introduced with the fifth generation Renault Espace. The company has confirmed that the all-new Renault Grand Scenic will be unveiled this European summer (June-August 2016) and go on sale before the end of the year.

Months ahead of its debut, a test mule has been spied testing in Europe, courtesy L'Automobile.

It's yet to be known if the 2016 Renault Grand Scenic will be offered with a bench seat or captain chairs in the third row.

The test mule is heavily camouflaged but does show an extended body behind the C-pillar. More importantly, as earlier reports said, the all-new Grand Scenic does have tail lamps different than those seen on the Scenic. While the difference is evident, conclusions cannot be drawn about the final design just yet.

What is known is that the interior will be in line with the two-row version. It's yet to be understood if Renault will offer a bench seat or individual seats in the third row.

The all-new Scenic is 40 mm longer and has a 32 mm longer wheelbase compared to the old Scenic; similar dimensional increments are expected in the 2016 Renault Grand Scenic.

The CMF platform-based Renault Grand Scenic will likely be offered with the same TCe 1.2-litre petrol and dCi 1.5- and 1.6-litre diesel engine options from the all-new Renault Scenic. Transmission choices will likely include 6-speed manual and 7-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic transmission.

British media say that while the Scenic will be positioned between the Captur and Kadjar, the Grand Scenic will be positioned above the new Koleos.
