Even though Renault in India has never sold the Kangoo (nor do they intend to for sometime), a lot of you people out there should be knowing what the Kangoo is.
Dubbed the 'leisure activity vehicle', Renault premiered the updated Kangoo earlier this year and sales of the new model have recently started in Europe.
Clearly the most differentiating detail in the Kangoo is its new front nose, which makes it look almost like Dacia like. According to Renault, the new Kangoo has gained maturity. The design is more powerful and more confident with the front-end adopting Renault’s latest styling identity.
There are two new versions available as well.
- Extrem model: this is the top-end model with 'go-anywhere' looks, a special two-tone (black and Dark Metal) bumper, 15’’ Dark Metal alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, roof rails and side cladding
- Business model: it will be available in the form of a “Business Pack” in France and it would be a mid-range version primarily addressing business users
Engine options for the updated Kangoo include the 1.5 liter dCi engine in three states of tune: 75bhp, 90bhp and 110bhp. A 1.2-liter turbocharged 115bhp TCe engine is available as a petrol as well.
A gear change indicator and a new Eco Mode function ensures that the 90bhp diesel consumes only 4.3 l/100km (23.25km/l). It emits 112g of CO2 per km as well.
All these updates are carried on to the Grand Kangoo as well. Prices for the updated Kangoo start at EUR 18,200 (INR 13.1 lakhs). The updated Kangoo's bookings commenced on February 28.
