Skoda Auto India will reveal the technical specifications and highlights of the upcoming Kodiaq and Octavia RS on August 10, 2017. Both cars will launch in September.
The more important of the two for Skoda would be the Kodiaq, driving volumes. According to reports, Skoda will offer the Kodiaq with a choice of 180 PS 2.0 L TSI petrol, 150 PS 2.0 L TDI diesel and 190 PS 2.0 L TDI diesel engines. These will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic. 4x4 might be available on the top-end variant. The Kodiaq is the first seven seater SUV from Skoda and is based on VW's MQB platform that underpins the Tiguan.
The Octavia RS will make a comeback to the Indian market in the 2017 avatar. It is based on the Octavia facelift that launched last month. The hotter version of the sedan features a sportier look thanks to a new body kit, bigger rims, and a dual exhaust pipe. Powering the Octavia RS will reportedly be a 2.0 L TSI petrol producing 226.54 hp and 350 Nm. We will have to wait for August 10 for confirmation on the specifications.
According to a report, Skoda dealerships are unofficially accepting bookings for both models now. Booking amount for the Skoda Kodiaq ranges from INR 20,000 - 51,000. Prices of the SUV could start at around INR 30 lakhs (ex-showroom). Expect the Octavia RS to carry a price tag of approximately INR 25 lakhs (ex-showroom).
