Skoda is prepping up to replace the current-gen Octavia with an all-new model which will be seen for the first time at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show later this year. Based on the Octavia hatchback, there will also be an Estate version of the same for the international markets. IAB's digital artist Shoeb Kalania has produced a rendering to preview the more practical version's expected design.

2020 Octavia
The Skoda Octavia has had an Estate version ever since its first generation.

The 2020 Skoda Octavia Estate will have the same front fascia as its hatchback sibling, something that's typical of estates. Like the hatchback, Estate will have a completely redesigned front fascia. The split-type headlights will be replaced by the new single-piece setup. It will be equipped with LED lights on its either ends, while its higher variants could very well sport the Matrix LED headlight technology, as seen on the new-gen Skoda Superb and the facelifted VW Passat. Another new addition will be dynamic turn LED indicators which light up in an outward sweeping motion. Apart from redesigned lights and bumper, it also gets a slightly sleeker and wider grille. At the rear, it will be equipped with a completely new set of L-shaped tail lights. Just like the hatchback, the Estate will have 'SKODA' lettering on its boot lid replacing the old Skoda logo.

The next-gen Skoda Octavia Estate will feature more premium materials and its cabin will be more feature-rich and plusher compared to the current car.  The net luggage capacity should be higher than the outgoing model's 1,740 litres. The engine options will likely include 1.5-litre TSI petrol, 2.0-litre TSI petrol, 1.6-litre TDI and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines, with select units available in varying outputs. The base petrol unit is expected to be offered with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system optionally. A plug-in hybrid variant has been officially confirmed.

Skoda had offered the Octavia Estate in India in the first generation. However, neither the second-gen model nor the third-gen model was launched in our market. The fourth-gen model also is unlikely to be launched. As usual, we will get the hatchback version only now.
