Skoda’s Virtual Cockpit internationally made debut in the Karoq last year, and from this year, it is available in the Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq. As the name suggests, Virtual Cockpit is a 10.25-inch HD fully digital instrument panel which replaces traditional analogue dials and gauges. The driver can choose from four different layouts: Classic, Digital, Infoprofile and Reduced. All layouts are individually programmable. For the performance-oriented RS variant, there’s also a special Sports layout, but in India, the Virtual Cockpit feature is exclusive to the L&K grade.

The driver can configure the size and positioning of the information displayed in the Virtual Cockpit as required. The Virtual Cockpit can display speed, rpm, fuel gauge and map, and also information from the audio system, phone and assistance systems. The controls for making the required changes are on the steering wheel.

The Skoda Octavia L&K equipped with Virtual Cockpit has already started reaching dealerships, and an official announcement with the pricing (or an update on the website) is expected anytime now. The L&K grade is available with the 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine (180 PS/250 Nm) and also the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine (143 PS/320 Nm). The petrol engine is paired with the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, while the diesel engine uses the 6-speed DSG automatic transmission to channel drive to the front wheels.
