The smart forfour crosstown edition has been showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The smart forfour crosstown edition will reach dealers in autumn this year in Europe. On the outside, the car features LED and Sensor package, which includes H4 halogen headlamps with welcome function; LED DRLs and tail lamps; fog lamps with cornering light; rain and light sensor. As a part of the standard Urban Style package, it features 16-inch black alloy wheels fitted with 185/50 R 16 tyres at the front and 205/45 R 16 tyres at the rear; wheel arch liners with smart lettering, sports suspension lowering the vehicle by 10 mm and exhaust system with chrome-plated tailpipe trim. The front bumper and side skirts get underride guard in silver finish.

Coming to the interior, the vehicle is equipped with a 3-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel in leather with grey topstitching, sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs. As a part of the standard Cool & Audio package, it gets smart Audio-System with AUX/USB interface; Bluetooth interface with a hands-free system; audio streaming for music transfer, and automatic climate control. The vehicle also comes with a Stowage Space package as standard, which includes lockable glove compartment, stowage net on the centre console in front passenger footwell, retaining strap for securing items on the front passenger seat. Heat-insulating, dark-tinted glass for rear side windows and rear window, and heated seats are standard as well.

The crosstown edition uses an 898cc in-line 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 90 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 135 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. It pairs with a 5-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank can hold 35 litres and the combined efficiency according to the European Cycle is 23.2 km/l.
