This very driver-car combo scored a podium finish at the 24 Hours Endurance Race at Le Mans in June this year.
The Speed Bolt tradition started back in 2008 with the Aston Martin Racing Day held at the Bandra-Worli Sea-link. The Gulf Top Fuel Drag Bike was brought down to Navi Mumbai last year giving the average Joe a sense of what these racing drivers go through everyday.
We were among a few lucky people who got a drive in the Aston Martin GTE, and needless to add, the experience was scintillating. The acceleration, retardation and downforce generated by the Vantage is simply phenomenal. Stefan took us for a flying lap around the track, and you can view the video showing the lap along with metrics from the data logger.
Another attraction of this event was the ‘Sound War’ where 7 Harley Davidson Motorcycles competed with the Stefan's Aston Martin GTE to make the loudest noise. The Harleys roared in vain as the eardrum rupturing note of the free flow exhaust from the V8-powered GTE drowned the bikers!
