Tata 407 faceliftThe Tata 407 is one of the most successful light commercial vehicles in India and was launched way back in 1986. A spyshot of its facelift has emerged on the internet now.

In its 25 years of existence, the cargo hauler hasn't seen many changes. The CNG engine option was made available in 2009 and the lineup was upgraded to common rail diesel engines in 2010.

Seen here are the spy pictures of the 407 facelift that was caught by one of the readers of BurnYourFuel.com, while being tested near Pune. The front fascia gets the most of the changes. The grill is bigger and the headlamps and turn indicators are now integrated into a single unit.

Usage of plastics appears to be increased as the headlamp surroundings and front bumper would suggest. Interestingly, there is a chrome strip above the Tata logo to add a bit of bling. There are no noticeable changes elsewhere.

The current 407 EX has a power and torque output of 71.3 PS and 200 Nm respectively and has a load carrying capacity of 2.25 tonnes. The facelift could also get a tweaked power train to meet the latest emission norms and also a higher payload rating.

Tata Motors is gearing up to expand the export base of its commercial vehicles in Africa and the 407 facelift could be a part of the plan.
