Suzuki Grand Vitara off-road version spotted testing - Brazil
Features a high ground clearance and black body cladding.
A unique Suzuki Grand Vitara was spotted with test plates in Sao Paulo, Brazil, featuring a higher ground clearance, black plastic bumpers and larger rugged tires, which suggest that Suzuki is planning on introducing an off-road friendly version of its flagship SUV. A badging at the side reads "Grand Vitara Sport", which could be the name Suzuki ends up calling it.
As seen in the pictures, the model does away with many cosmetic features found in the standard Grand Vitara. For instance, it replaces the 2-slat chrome grille, body-painted bumpers and side view mirror caps with black plastic, which enhances the rugged appeal of the Grand Vitara as well as not cost a fortune to repair when damaged while going through uncharted territory.
The wheels appear to be finished in a dark titanium shade rather than the standard model's silver, and it gains extra badges on the side.
No interior changes have been reported, yet. Since it's based on the top variant, expect standard features such as a touchscreen multimedia infotainment system with GPS, automatic climate control, 2-DIN music player with steering wheel mounted audio controls, ABS with EBD, and dual airbags.
The Grand Vitara Sport (according to the side badge) packs a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission and standard 4WD system. It produces 140 hp at 6,500 rpm and 186 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

Given that the Suzuki Grand Vitara has no successor planned, this edition could be last hurrah for the flagship SUV, before its discontinuation.
