The Suzuki SX4 is very nearly at the end of its actual lifecycle but the Japanese small car expert has decided to give the crossover a minor spruce up in Italy by launching two special editions namely the Evolution and Evolution+.
Unlike in India, the SX4 is not a textbook style sedan in Italy. It is a mild crossover which is more capable than an ordinary hatchback off the road. The Evolution and Evolution+ special editions are based on the GL and GLX trims respectively.
The Evolution edition brings in more equipment to the package such as leather wrapped steering wheel, dual tone fabrics, a multimedia infotainment system with 5" touchscreen, satellite navigation, MP3 music system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
As far as the exterior is concerned, the Suzuki SX4 Evolution gets a new Bison Brown color option, ORVM mounted turn indicators, new alloy wheels and silver roof rails.
The Evolution+ carries all the features included in the Evolution package along with added goodies like rear power windows, automatic climate control and cruise control (only available in 2.0-litre DDIS).
The two special editions are available with a 1.6-litre VVT petrol engine which is offered with a 4x4 system and a 2.0 litre DDIS diesel engine. The SX4 Evolution starts at €18,590 (around Rs. 13.35 lakhs) for the petrol model and at €19,590 (around Rs. 14.07 lakhs) for the 2WD diesel version.
