The BoosterJet engine series debuted at 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
At the 18th Chengdu Motor Show (CDMS 2015), the Suzuki S-Cross is being showcased with the 1.4-litre Boosterjet engine, which according to the Chinese media, will be available on the market in the coming weeks.
The new range of Suzuki engines was announced at the Geneva Motor Show in March, by premiering the 1.0-litre unit on the Suzuki iK-2 concept. Later, at 2015 Shanghai Motor Show (Auto Shanghai), the Japanese carmaker presented for the first time, the 1.4-litre version of the Boosterjet engine lineup.
The new 1.4-litre Suzuki BoosterJet engine is a 4-cylinder, 16-valve turbocharged gasoline motor, with Dual Over Head Camshaft (DOHC). It can fit into a box of size 537 mm x 450 mm x 696 mm. The unit puts out 136 PS and 220 Nm. Mated to this new engine in the S-Cross, will be a six-speed automatic transmission, driving the front or all wheels. A start-stop system is included for fuel efficiency benefit.
Features on the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross 1.4T include auto climate control, multifunction steering wheel with call answer button, touch-screen infotainment system, keyless entry, push button start, 17-inch wheels, sunroof, leather seats with red stitching, and height adjustable driver seat.
