Suzuki showcased the fourth generation Suzuki Vitara at Auto China 2016 (2016 Beijing Motor Show) last month, the AWD guise. Already on sale in the country, this is the first locally-made Vitara, manufactured by the Changan-Suzuki joint venture.
The Chinese-spec 2016 Suzuki Vitara measures 4,175 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width and 1,610 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. It's available in four grades, with prices starting at 99,800 yuan (INR 10,22,374) and going up to 1,59,800 yuan (INR 16,37,028). Noteworthy features include LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, electric sunroof, 6-speaker sound system and GPS navigation. Two engine options are available: 1.6-litre G-INNOTEC and 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET.
The 1.6-litre G-INNOTEC four-cylinder petrol engine, available only in the base grade, produces 90 kW (121 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 158 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, and channels power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET four-cylinder petrol engine produces 103 kW (138 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 220 Nm of torque from 1,700 rpm to 4,000 rpm. It can be had with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. ALLGRIP all-wheel drive system is available only in the top-end grade, paired exclusively to the automatic transmission.
