The second or third bestselling car in India – Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is a living proof that Indian consumers are one of the most practical minded people in the world and the most unforgiving to old brand plates.
Massive space, oodles of head room, good luggage space, decent power, awesome fuel economy are coupled up into one big package. Sure, it looks like an odd ball and has a high center of gravity, but when it comes to practicality, there is one word trust – Wagon R.
Our Chinese friends are no different. They too love the Wagon R which have received many facelifts in the Chinese auto market (likewise in India). But recently the Wagon R was facelifted in China which makes it look rather tacky.
Be it the double barrel aftermarket headlamps or the generous dollop of chrome on the grill; Not to mention the weird-looking tail lamps – it just doesn’t add up. Anyways looks weren’t the strongest point after all. This facelifted version is powered by the same 1L engine that we get over here. This facelifted version will make its public debut at Beijing Auto Show in April and will carry the new Changhe-Suzuki badge.
What do you think of it?
