Speaking to the Economic Times, Bhargava said that Suzuki's future is dependent on Maruti, as the Indian arm of the Japanese carmaker could touch sales of 2 million units/annum in the next few years.

Maruti currently holds a market share of around 45 percent in the overall Indian car market, and says that it will try to increase its market share by way of launching new products and entering new segments. Next year will see Maruti enter two new segments at least. The compact SUV segment will see the launch of the SX4 S-Cross, while the premium hatchback segment will see the YRA (codename).
