The SWM Superdual 650 T gets a massive price cut of INR 80,000 on the ex-showroom prices, bringing the tag down to INR 6.50 lakh from the original INR 7.30 lakh levels. Regular followers would know that SWM launched two variants of the Superdual 650 in the Indian market back in October 2018. Superdual and Superdual T were launched at INR 6,80,000 and INR 7,30,000 (both ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

With the price cut, the premium variant of the adventure tourer is available at the same levels as the base model. The discounted price, however, is limited to the first 250 buyers of the middleweight adventure tourer. To recap, the Superdual T is the premium spec model of the Superdual range and packs features such as auxiliary lamps, crash guard, and skid plate from the factory.

Both variants share identical mechanical specifications and draw 54 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 55 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm from the 600cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. Power is sent to the wheel via a 6-speed transmission.

A 300 mm disc at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear perform the anchoring tasks while a switchable dual-channel ABS comes as standard. Pair of 45 mm USD forks at the front, with 210 mm of travel and adjustable rebound, performs shock absorption duties. At the back is a mono-shock with 220 mm of travel and adjustable pre-load and rebound. The motorcycle strikes a balance between on- and off-road riding with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-wheels.

The motorcycle competes against the likes of Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT in the Indian market. Meanwhile, the competition will get tougher in the segment with the arrival of the Benelli TRK 502 duo. As reported last month, the Benelli TRK 502 and TRK 502X India launch will happen on February 18. We expect to see the TRK 502 to arrive in the INR 5-5.5 lakh range while the off-road spec TRK 502X would carry a premium of INR 30,000-60,000.
