The arrival of the Honda Amaze has evoked different reactions from the fellow automakers.
Toyota facelifted its Etios, Maruti launched the Swift Dzire Regal special edition. And Tata, already having updated the Manza with the Club Class variant late last year, has started a web campaign onslaught which is directed against the Honda Amaze.
The online advertisements redirect you to the Tata Manza website where you are given a direct comparison between the Manza and the Honda Amaze. Titled as "Bigger is Better", Tata compares the features, prices and specifications of the mid-spec Manza VX and the high end Amaze VX.
Tata Motors did not fail to highlight Manza's key strengths like the spacious interiors, bigger boot space and better equipment. The Manza VX comes with a touchscreen music system with GPS and Bluetooth connectivity which are absent on the fully loaded Amaze diesel variant.
Worried by slow sales, Tata Motors have recently announced lucrative offers on all its passenger cars including the Manza. In addition to discounts, the sedan is available with a 60% buyback assurance offer wherein you can return your car back to Tata after 3 years in exchange for 60% of the new car's money.
The final and important piece of the comparison is the price. The Manza VX asks for Rs. 7.36 lakhs while the Honda Amaze VX would set you back by 8.01 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom Mumbai).
The Honda Amaze has created lots of interest among car buyers in the B Sedan segment but a long waiting period could make customers weigh up options. The Tata Manza is looking to cash in on such an opportunity.
