The much awaited Apache RTR 180 has finally been launched by TVS. The engine displacement is 177.3cc and produces 17.3 PS of power at 8500rpm slightly more than the segment benchmark, the new Bajaj Pulsar 180 and an increase of 2PS from the RTR 160.
Torque also receives a boost to 15.5Nm from 13.1Nm previously. The TVS Apache RTR 180 has longer wheelbase than RTR 160 by 26mm and larger 110/80 17? tubeless tires. While RTR 180 doesn’t get fuel injection, that’s all the rage in motorcycles these days.
But the engineers at TVS have given it a bigger carburetor for quicker engine response, given that the RTR 160 was reputed to have an amazing acceleration, this one is bound to be a ripper!. TVS claims that this apache will reach 60kmph in 4.15 seconds and will reach a top speed of 125kph
The TVS apache RTR 180 is priced at a quite reasonable Rs. 63,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). Three colors will be made available - pearl white, titanium grey and black. Apart from the decals, differentiating the RTR 180 from RTR 160 might prove difficult.
Color of the tachometer is being changed to white and the rear mud-guard design is a bit clumsy with quite a few holes. On the whole, it’s not that refreshing a change aesthetically but quite a welcome change performance wise.
