Toyota C-HR spied testing in Thailand again

Toyota started testing the ASEAN-spec Toyota C-HR in Thailand in January. A test mule was recently spotted again on the roads, courtesy MZ Crazy Cars.

The Toyota C-HR is Toyota's first SUV underpinned by the TNGA platform.

The sub-compact SUV debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and is now on sale in markets around the world. It is 4,360 mm long, 1,795 mm wide and 1,565 mm tall. It is available in 1.2-litre petrol, 2.0-litre petrol and 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid models. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. Four-wheel drive is available.

On the outside, the Toyota C-HR features LED headlamps with LED light guide, LED front fog lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, C-Pillar with integrated door handles and cantilevered rear spoiler. Inside, the small SUV has leather steering wheel and gearshift knob, dual-zone auto AC, 4.2-inch cooler MID, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and 9-speaker JBL premium sound system. Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Control, Road Sign Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control are the key safety and driver assistance features.

Like the Malaysian-spec Toyota C-HR, it could have a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired to a continuously variable transmission.

The Thai-spec Toyota C-HR’s details aren’t reported yet. Like the Malaysian-spec Toyota C-HR, it could have a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired to a continuously variable transmission. Toyota could introduce the vehicle at the 2017 Thai Motor Expo in November.
