United Traders Syndicate, the authorized distributors of Toyota cars in Nepal, will launch the Toyota Etios Liva by the first week of August. The Liva for Nepal will be exported from India, where it is made at Toyota's plant in Bidadi, Karnataka.
While the Liva is available with three engine options in India (1.2L petrol, 1.5L petrol and 1.4L diesel), only the base 1.2-liter engine option will be sold in Nepal. This four-cylinder unit makes 80 PS (78.87 bhp) at 5,600 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 3,100 rpm and comes paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. In the ARAI tests, the Liva 1.2L manages 17.71 km/l.
The Liva in Nepal will cost about 3.3 million Nepali Rupee (INR 20.62 lakhs). It will rival other Indian cars like the VW Polo, Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Swift. Portfolio wise, it will slot below the Yaris hatchback and the Etios sedan (which is again exported from India).
