A couple of days ago, we have posted about the new teasers that were unveiled by TVS which lead us to believe that a slightly updated version of the Apache RTR is waiting to be unveiled. However it turns out not to be.
TVS Motors is about to celebrate the milestone of rolling out a million Apaches. The "new skin" the company was taking about seems to be just a fancy graphics for the tank!
TVS has released a teaser image which highlights "We've put the beast together, a million times". The Chennai based manufacturer has also thanked Apache enthusiasts and its loyal customers. It also says, "TVS races to 1,000,000 Apaches on road. Thanks a Million".
One of the latest teaser images has a dark silhouette of the RTR 180. This has clearly proved, against our expectation that the special edition Apache will only have new color combinations.
The mechanical package is expected to remain the same. The TVS Apache RTR 180 is powered by a 17.05 bhp 177.4cc single cylinder engine.
A Facebook campaign is also being run to celebrate the milestone. The fans are asked to download a standard template of the Apache's fuel tank and design their own livery on it. The person responsible for the best livery gets to drive home a new Apache RTR.
So, this is the actual story behind the company's much hyped "The beast seeks a new skin" statement.
