Last month, the 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant had its world premiere at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2019). Now, it is being displayed the key German dealerships. Here's a Vegas Yellow 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant specified with top-of-the-line options. It was showcased at Audi City Berlin recently.
The Vegas Yellow colour seen on the 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant here is a EUR 2,900 (INR 2,25,521.74) custom paint. The display model sports massive, 22-inch cast aluminium wheels in 5-V-spoke trapeze design, glossy anthracite black, high-sheen finish. These wheels come wrapped with 285/30 R 22 tyres and cost EUR 2,300 (INR 1,78,862.07). Peeking behind the wheels, the RS ceramic brakes cut unsprung weight by over 30 kilos and offer fade-free braking experience on the track. They come with red brake callipers and cost EUR 9,000 (INR 6,99,895.04).
The all-new Audi RS 6 Avant seen here flaunts the EUR 2,550 (INR 1,98,303.60) light package that includes HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light, LED tail lights and headlight cleaning system. Furthermore, its optic package carbon / black glossy (front spoiler, side flaps in front, side sill inserts and the diffuser insert in carbon gloss rear; Moldings on the side windows in shiny black, roof rails in black matt) costs about EUR 4,650 (INR 3,61,612.44).
The yellow colour has been carried over to the interiors. The car has yellow stitching everywhere, including the top of the dash, the Alcantara steering wheel, bucket seats, and even the carpets. The optional RS sports seats in the front carry the best leather upholstery Audi has to offer - Valcona - along with honeycomb stitching, and they cost EUR 1,750 (INR 1,36,090.70).
There are some less-expensive options as well, such as Audi rings and lettering in shiny black costing EUR 300 (INR 23,329.83) and Privacy glazing (darkened rear windows, quarter glass panels and back glass) priced at EUR 450 (INR 34,994.75).

The 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant, unlike the old model, is a mild-hybrid electric vehicle. It uses a 4.0 TFSI engine which delivers 441 kW (600 PS) and 800 Nm (590.0 lb-ft) of torque with a 48-volt electrical system. Up to 12 kW of power can be recovered during light deceleration and stored in a dedicated Lithium-ion battery. Depending on the driving situation and the drive mode, the car recovers energy or coasts up to 40 seconds when the driver takes their foot off the accelerator at a speed between 55 and 160 km/h. MHEV technology allows for start/stop operation at speeds of up to 22 km/h.
Handling the power transmission is the 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission and the rear-biased (40:60) quattro permanent AWD system. The high-performance station wagon accelerations from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, and further to 200 km/h in a mere 12 seconds. The top speed, as expected, is electronically governed at 250 km/h. It can be increased to 280 km/h with the optional dynamic package or even up to 305 km/h with the dynamic package plus.
In Germany, the 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant is priced at EUR 1,17,500 (INR 91,37,518.59). It will go on sale by the end of this year. The previous generation model was brought to India, and the all-new model should be here sometime early next decade. Expect it to cost around INR 1.50 crore (ex-showroom). For a year or so, the company's Indian subsidiary will be busy launching mostly mainstream models like the twice-facelifted A4, the new generation A6, new generation A7, new generation A8, new generation Q3 and the facelifted Q7, most of which have been facing delays. The first-ever Q8 is also India-bound, but not a priority compared to the compact and mid-size models, obviously.
