The Vespa VX was launched in India in July 2013 at a price of Rs 71,380. The scooter is powered by a 125 cc 3-valve single cylinder four-stroke petrol engine that makes 10 PS and produces 10.6 Nm of peak torque. Power is transferred to the wheels via a CVT box. With a fuel tank of around 8 litres, Piaggio promises a range of around 400 km on a full tank. Up front is a 200 mm disc brake while the rear features drum brakes.

Both the Vespa VX and the Vespa S will share the same 125 cc 3-valve single cylinder four-stroke petrol engine.
