The list of upcoming electric scooters extends with the sighting of a new product, the Yadea. The Chinese electric vehicle was spotted somewhere in Tamil Nadu, India, where it is currently being tested. The Yadea product was seen with “Test Vehicle” sticker on the box at the rear.

While the details are scarce, Yadea may join hands with a local brand to set up shop in the Indian market. The Government of India’s ambitious plans of mass electrification has attracted many electric two-wheeler brands while the existing companies in the country are developing their individual products.
The model name is not visible in the spy images, but the source website says that the scooter in the photograph matches the YD-EM186 from the Chinese brand. The global site of the Chinese manufacturer lists the YD-EM186 with an 800W motor and boasts a top speed of 45 km/h. The scooter comes with two battery packs to select from - 60V20AH and 48V20AH. The vehicle has a claimed range of 55 km to 60 km.
A disc brake up front and a drum brake at the back perform anchoring tasks. Conventional telescopic forks handle the shock absorption duties at the front and twin-sided springs at the rear.
In terms of styling, the scooter features chrome treated parts for a premium look. The cockpit includes a digital instrument console that gets a circular shape with chrome surrounds. The round, rear-view mirrors with chrome stalks add a retro look to the vehicle.
The storage solutions at the back of the apron feature a bottle holder and a hook along with some additional space that can be used to store documents. The white body paint is accompanied by the company’s branding and logo. The footrests, when closed, run flush with the body for a cleaner design. The pillion backrest would enhance passenger comfort while the box at the back can be used to store extra luggage. Chrome garnishing is also visible around the tail light and the rear blinkers.
The fascia of the scooter isn’t visible in the photographs, but the vehicle most likely carries apron mounted headlight and blinkers.

The vehicle, as mentioned above, is currently being tested and the details about the launch and availability are yet to be announced.
