Popular Japanese bike maker - Yamaha, which has created shock-waves in the Indian Two-wheeler segment, will unveil its own showroom in Mumbai, which will be named as - 'The Bike Station'. This new Bike Station is expected to foster Yamaha’s physical presence at dealerships that already exist in other major Indian cities. The new Mumbai Bike Stations are to be located at Bandra and Malad West.
Yamaha has said that the Bike Stations would have on show more than just an array of Yamaha models. Any bike enthusiast who wishes walk in, can get to choose from a wide range of Original Yamaha accessories, and the showroom will also be a place to hang around for sports biking essentials including Yamaha jackets, T-shirts and pants.
Yamaha aims to sell 5 Lakh bikes in 2009 !
The Japanese bike major already operates in as many as 430 dealerships across the country and now aims at including another 80 new dealers to its fold, plus concept stores to sell its sports-bikes.
Yamaha which recently launched its two bikes in India - the FZ16 and R15, have been a massive hit in Indian market and has also helped to boost up Yamaha's 2008 sales as we reported earlier. Now, the launch of Bike Stations can only establish the brand further. Yamaha is sure to sell its top-notch sports bikes - YZF-R1 and MT01 which cost a whopping Rs 10.5lakhs each at its new Bike Stations.
Yamaha also plans to launch its new range of scooters which will be named as Nuvo, Vino and Mito as we reported on IAB.
