The Yamaha R15 v3.0 is up for launch and has already been spotted testing. A new rendering of the bike, courtesy MotoBlast, shows that the bike is likely to be an evolution of the now-familiar design language and to incorporate elements from more recent Yamaha models.

Yamaha R15 V 3.0 rendering
The render of the Yamaha R15 v3.0 also retains alloy wheels from the Yamaha M-Slaz.

The rendering mixes elements from the current Yamaha R15 V2.0 and the Yamaha M-Slaz. The M-Slaz isn't available in India as yet, but was launched towards the end of 2015 in Thailand. Per the render, the 3.0 carries forward the small windshield up front and retains the inverted telescopic suspension setup at the front and the monoshock setup at the rear.

The fuel tank gets a more edgy design, with the sculpted tank appearing slightly taller than V2.0. However, a more noticeable change suggested by the render is a slightly lowered pillion seat compared to V2.0.

The Japanese manufacturer is likely to retain the current mechanical setup for the Yamaha R15 V3.0. The present variant is powered by a 149.8 cc single-cylinder, SOHC engine producing 17 PS and 15 Nm of peak torque. The standard six-speed gearbox is also expected to be retained.
