Yamaha India has temporarily discontinued the YZF-R15S and the Fazer 150, claims Express Drives. Both motorcycles missed the ABS upgrade post the deadline of March 31, 2019. Do note that while Yamaha has removed the Fazer 150 from its India website, the YZF-R15S continues to be listed.

The Yamaha YZF-R15S was introduced as a practical variant of the YZF-R15 range. The S model combined the upgrades from the YZF-R15 V2.0 with the practical and comfortable design of the first-generation motorcycle. Thus, while the YZF-R15S continued to use the famed Delta Box frame, updated mechanical specifications and the aggressive fascia, it received a flat, single-piece saddle for better comfort to the rider and the passenger. The source report adds that Yamaha could introduce the YZF-R15 V3.0 with a single-seat setup to replace the YZF-R15S.
Mechanical specifications on the Yamaha YZF-R15S included 149 cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC motor that made 16.58 PS of peak power at 8,500 engine revs and 15 Nm of maximum torque at 7,500 rpm. The motorcycle used a six-speed gearbox. In comparison, the new YZF-R15 V3.0 uses a variable valve actuation technology equipped 155 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that churns out 19.3 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The six-speed transmission on the V3.0 benefits from an assist and slipper clutch. The new model also features a dual-channel ABS.
Yamaha may also reintroduce the Fazer 150 with all the upgrades that the latest generation FZ (150 cc) series received. If launched, the new Fazer 150 will benefit from a LED headlight, new LCD instrument console and a single-channel ABS. The new Yamaha FZ-Fi and FZS-Fi use a 149 cc, air-cooled, SOHC engine that makes 13.2 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The 150 cc FZ duo receives new paint scheme and updated styling and the Fazer 150, apart from the addition of a semi-fairing design, will get all the features from the naked roadsters.

In more updates, Yamaha may bring the new 2019 YZF-R3 (Facelift) to the Indian market soon. The 321 cc motorcycle registered zero sales last month, which hints that Yamaha India may have stopped the imports to bring the updated model to our market. The 2019 YZF-R3 (Facelift) is already available for sale in select international markets.
