Zotye T200 is nothing but the facelifted version of the Premier Rio SUV which is being sold in India.
The T200 mini-SUV has been showcased at the Auto Shanghai 2013 show and is now available for sale in the Chinese market. It is a completely revised version of Zotye 5008 yet the architecture remains the same.
The Zotye T200 is underpinned by the same platform as 5008 which in turn is based on the Daihatsu Terios. Zotye is also working on the new generation 5008 which will be based on entirely on a new platform.
TheT200 has updated styling with dual-tone dashboard and a newly designed steering wheel. Under the hood, the mini SUV gets two petrol engine options. One is a 1.3 litre four cylinder engine producing 93hp and another is a 1.5 litre four cylinder producing 106hp. The power is transmitted by a 5-speed manual gearbox for both the engines.
The overall dimensions are as follows: 4,005mm in length; 1,570mm in width and 1,704 in height with a wheelbase of 2,420mm. The Zotye T200 starts at a base price of 45,999 yuan (around 4.04 lakhs) and ends at 59,999 yuan (around 5.27 lakhs).
In India, Premier Rio is assembled through CKD route with parts coming all the way from Zotye. If Rio SUV gets a facelift it is expected to receive the same treatment as Zotye T200 which will help in improving its overall appeal.
