The 630 hp EcoBoost V6 engine is placed at the rear, mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.

The body of the Ford GT makes extensive use of lightweight materials like aluminum and carbon fiber in its construction. The passenger cell is made entirely out of carbon fiber while the front and rear subframes use aluminum. These frames are covered by structural carbon fiber panels, giving a stiff foundation that is light and rigid at the same time.

Design wise, the Ford GT has a teardrop shape that is aerodynamically efficient. The front gets a huge radiator grille, LED headlamps with LED DRLs and sculpted bonnet scoops. The flanks have slim side mirrors, side skirts, air intakes behind the doors and 20-inch wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires. Coming to the rear view, it has an active spoiler, round LED tail lamps, centrally-mounted twin exhausts and a big diffuser.

The driver-focused interior is accessed by upward swinging doors. The cabin has a F1-style steering wheel with a stalk-less column that allow uncluttered access to the paddle shifters. The instrument cluster is fully digital and can be configured to display various driver-focused information. The seating is fixed but the pedals and steering column can be adjusted to suit different types of drivers.
