At the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt, Ford is showcasing the 2018 Ford GT '67 Heritage Edition and the Ford GT racecar. The former pays tribute to the GT40 Mark IV race car driven by Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt, to Le Mans victory in 1967.

First debuted at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the GT '67 Heritage Edition comes with the exposed carbon package finished in a gloss red finish, striking white body graphics and characteristic dual white stripes across the top, red calipers and silver mirror caps. Like the Le Mans-winning GT40 racecar, the special edition GT has a large ‘1’ on both sides as well as the hood and rides on 20-inch forged aluminium wheels.

Inside, the GT '67 Heritage Edition gets carbon-fibre seats wrapped leather trim and contrasting red accent stitching on the seats and steering wheel. Like the regular Ford GT, its door sills, air vents, and centre console are constructed out of matte carbon-fiber.

Powering the GT is a 3.5-litre EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 647 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 550lb ft at 5,900 rpm. It is paired with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox that shuffles power to the rear wheel. The GT can hit a maximum top speed of 216 mph.
