The second generation Toyota Sienta arrived three years ago, and it’s due for a facelift now. Best Car has created a speculative rendering to preview the updated family van.

The 2018 Toyota Sienta (rendered) will feature LED headlights as standard.

The Toyota Sienta is already quite appealing with its unconventional styling, and Toyota will likely infuse a dash of premium flavours with the MMC (Minor Model Change). The Japanese rendering shows tweaked headlights, a swanky chrome-studded radiator grille and a revised bumper at the front.

Other exterior alterations may include revised rear bumper, fresh alloy wheel designs and tweaked tail lights. The Japanese magazine says that Toyota will offer LED headlights as standard in the new model, and even sequential turn indicators.

Inside, Toyota may introduce new convenience features, enhance the aesthetics with more appealing trim and upholstery and improve the MID and infotainment system. The MPV’s Toyota Safety Sense safety package may get an upgrade with the new Pre-Collision System (PCS) offering pedestrian detection (day and night) and cyclist detection (day).

The Toyota Sienta is available with four different petrol engines - 103 PS 1.5-litre petrol, 107 PS 1.5-litre petrol, 109 PS 1.5-litre petrol and 140 PS 1.8-litre petrol - all mated to a CVT. There’s a hybrid option too, using a 74 PS 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 61 PS electric motor together. With the mid-cycle refresh, the fuel economy (JC08 mode) delivered by the hybrid powertrain will go up from 27.2 km/l to 28.2 km/l.
