The three-year-old second generation Toyota Sienta will soon receive a facelift. Days before the facelifted model’s launch, the car's brochure has leaked online in Japan.
The 2019 Toyota Sienta features subtle design changes at the front. The single-piece grille gets inserts and the bumper garnish that flows from the headlamps to the fog lamps does not merge with it. Other changes include a revised bumper and tweaked headlamp graphics. The updated model looks close to what Best Car rendered in July.
Reports say that Toyota will make LED headlights standard and introduce sequential turn indicators, but there’s no evidence regarding the latter in this brochure. On the sides, there are fresh alloy wheels. At the rear, it seems like there’s nothing different except the tweaked tail lamp graphics.
Interior revisions may include fresh trim & upholstery choices, enhanced MID and infotainment system along with some new convenience features. The Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite of high-level driver assistance systems may see an upgrade with the inclusion of new Pre-Collision System that can help detect pedestrians (day and night) and cyclists (day) in front of the vehicle.

The Toyota Sienta is available in Japan in petrol and hybrid variants. The petrol 4WD configurations are powered by the 1NZ-FE 1.5-litre engine that produces 103 PS and 132 Nm of torque. The petrol 2WD configurations use the 2NR-FKE 1.5-litre engine that develops 109 PS and 136 Nm of torque. The hybrid 2WD configurations employ the 1NZ-FXE 1.5-litre petrol (74 PS/111 Nm) with the 2LM electric motor (61 PS/169 Nm). There’s no word on changes to these options with the mid-cycle update.
