Changes to the Kawasaki 250 for MY2020 are only cosmetic and the bike remains mechanically unchanged. Colour options are the same as those of the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 400 - ‘Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Matte Graphite Grey’ and ‘Pearl Blizzard White/Metallic Spark Black’. The KRT edition is also identical to the Kawasaki Ninja 400 KRT Edition apart from the 250 stickering and different exhaust canister.

The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 250 is powered by a 248 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine produces 37 PS (-2 PS) of power and 23 Nm of torque. In comparison, the Ninja 300 retailed in India, which is based on the same 250 cc mill, produces 39 PS of power and 27 Nm of torque. The claimed fuel efficiency is 26.2 km/l.

The suspension system includes 41 mm standard telescopic fork in the front and a bottom link monoshock in the rear. The kerb weight has increased by 2 kg to 166 kg. The ground clearance and seat height are 145 mm and 795 mm respectively. The Ninja 250 continues to be fitted with an assist and slipper clutch as standard. Earlier this month, Kawasaki had introduced a Special Edition variant of the Ninja 250 with a keyless ignition system.
