The artists at Japanese magazine Young Machine have come out with a new rendering of the quarter-litre, in-line four-cylinder engine-powered Kawasaki ZX-25R in the August 2019 issue, and the motorcycle looks just as appealing as the company's litre-class product, the ZX-10R. Last month, a report stated that the quarter-litre bike, which will most likely go on sale in 2020, will debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.

The rendered motorcycle features a typical ZX family fascia with a twin-pod headlight and a RAM air-intake in the centre. Another air-intake is visible on the top corner of the fairing on the render motorcycle. It will be safe to assume that Kawasaki will give its upcoming product full LED lighting. The blinkers on the rendered ZX-25R, similar to the current range of Kawasaki products like Ninja 300, are integrated into the fairing.
A transparent treatment to the fairing of the rendered motorcycle reveals a tubular trellis frame and the inline four-cylinder engine with a red cylinder head. The liquid-cooled engine should deliver promising performance numbers, although it is too early to make any guesses. For reference, Kawasaki’s Ninja 250 draws 39 hp of peak power at 12,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of max torque at 10,000 rpm from its parallel twin-cylinder motor. The inline four-cylinder engine will arrive with Euro-V compliance right from the beginning.
Kawasaki will target to match the hardware specifications of the Honda CBR250RR, and thus the ZX-25R will come equipped with upside-down forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking hardware on the rendered motorcycle features dual rotors with radially mounted callipers. The production-spec bike may come with a single brake rotor. The safety net will include dual-channel ABS. Other features on the upcoming quarter-litre four-cylinder Kawasaki motorcycle will most likely include a ride-by-wire system with multiple riding modes.
Kawasaki offers a wide range of products for the Indian market, and thus it would not be entirely incorrect to expect the ZX-25R in our country. If launched, the ZX-25R will arrive via the CKD route and become the most affordable inline four-cylinder motorcycle in our market. However, we expect it to be priced close to INR 4 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
