Front and rear fascia will be slightly redesigned
A Jaguar XJ test mule has been spotted in Ireland that sports camouflage wrap on key areas of the exterior, adding credence to reports that they are currently working on a minor facelift for the flagship sedan.
Key areas include the entire front and rear fascia, and the trunk. Even the headlights and taillights have been covered up, suggesting that Jaguar might be working on a redesign. However, the interior of the test mule remained identical to the current model, although reports speculate that Jaguar will update some parts of the cabin.
The test mule was powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that is available in two variants: the 510 hp Supersport version and the XJ-R with 550 hp. They are fitted with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission that serves the entire Jaguar range. Other petrol engine options available for the XJ include a base 2.0-liter turbo and a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged.

The facelifted Jaguar XJ will be announced in 2015, though no specific launch date nor location has been divulged. Petrol and diesel variants of the vehicle are assembled in India, and should continue when the facelift steps in.
The next generation XJ, an all-new product which will embody a radical design, is expected see the light of day in 2017.
