The Hyosung Mirage 250 was earlier reported to be launched in the country in September. Speaking to IAB about the upcoming Hyosung cruiser bike, Mr Ajinkya Firodia, Managing Director, Motoroyale India, said:

“We are now looking at a smaller cruiser that we will plan in the coming months. A lower than 650 cc model, which we already have in the global markets. Nothing is planned soon on a naked offering but the Hyosung Mirage 250 will be launched soon.”

When probed further about the exact timeline, he said, “I think in next four or five months, so around February or March 2019.” It is safe to assume that the bike will undoubtedly come before the end of this fiscal year. Hyosung has partnered with Kinetic Group owned Motoroyale after its split with DSK Motowheels.

The Hyosung Mirage 250 is also known as the Hyosung Aquila GV250, and it will arrive as the successor to the Hyosung Aquila 250, which was on sale in India a few years ago. Unlike the older Aquila 250, the new Mirage 250 features an urban cruiser design language.

The Hyosung Mirage 250 has a kidney-shaped fuel tank, wide handlebar, chopped front fender, split seats, a short rear mudguard and alloy wheels. The cruiser features LED headlight and taillight, a single-pod instrument cluster and a stylish shroud for the radiator as well.

The Hyosung Mirage 250 employs a 250 cc V-twin, liquid-cooled engine. The fuel-injected motor is tuned to generate 25.8 hp of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and developing 21.7 Nm peak torque at 7,000 rpm. A 6-speed transmission transfers drive to the wheel via a final chain drive.

The Hyosung Mirage 250 comes with a fuel tank capacity of 15 litres, which, when full, gives a riding range of over 400 km. The cruiser uses 19-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels. It has a slightly sporty riding posture with the ‘cow horns’ handlebar and the forward-set foot pegs. Anchorage comes from a 300 mm front rotor and a 220 mm rear disc, with standard dual-channel ABS. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and twin coil-spring shock absorbers at the rear.

The Hyosung Mirage 250 will be locally assembled at Motoroyale's plant in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, alongside other bikes. The cruiser will rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Thunderbird 350 and the upcoming Jawa 300 cc motorcycle. It is expected to cost around INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom).
