Update: Isuzu have launched the MU-7 AT at INR 23.9 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The MU-7 AT uses the same engine, but churns 333 Nm of torque between 1,600-3,200 rpm. Also, it now gets reverse sensors and satellite navigation as additional features.
Expected to cost a lakh more than the MT variant.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Manikandan Sakthi, snapped the forthcoming Isuzu MU-7 Automatic ahead of its launch, which is expected to take place tomorrow.
While the exterior of the MU-7 AT is identical to the manual variant, the interior gets a new 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, apart from the automatic gearlever. Isuzu have also made minor changes to the dashboard which now gets a dual-tone black-and-beige scheme with faux-wood inserts, whereas the manual variant gets an all-black dashboard.
Under the hood though, the MU-7 AT is expected to continue with the 3.0-liter intercooled four-cylinder diesel engine, which develops 163 PS at 3,600 rpm and 360 Nm of torque between 1,800-2,800 rpm. At the moment, Isuzu only offers a rear-wheel drive version of the SUV.
The MU-7 AT is expected to borrow its features from the MT variant, which gets dual front airbags and ABS as standard. Also standard is a touchscreen entertainment system with DVD, leather seats, reverse camera, Bluetooth, 16-inch alloy wheels and a keyless entry system.
The MU-7 AT is expected to cost at least a lakh more than the manual variant, which is priced between 21.58 lakhs to INR 23.9 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
