Mahindra owned Classic Legends, which holds the license to market Jawa motorcycles in India and Asian markets, is all set to unveil the new Jawa 300 motorcycle on 15 November. Here’s a rendering of the 'Jawa 300 Roadster' by IAB’s illustrator, Shoeb R Kalania.
The digital rendering of the Jawa 300 Roadster (speculative name) takes inspiration from the Jawa 350 OHC that is on sale in the European markets. The India-spec Jawa 300 Roadster is IAB’s take on a modern-retro street bike embedded with the new 293 cc heart.
The Jawa 300 Roadster features a kidney-shaped fuel tank, round headlight, minimal side panels, chopped rear fender and an elongated single-piece seat. The motorcycle comes with a wide handlebar, pillion grab rail, twin-pod clocks, and a conventional taillight. Keeping the neo-classic design intact, the 300 Roadster is shod with telescopic front forks and twin coil-spring shock absorbers at the back.
The Jawa 300 Roadster uses 18-inch wire-spoke wheels that wrap with dual-purpose tyres. Braking is aided by disc brakes at both the ends, with standard ABS. Powering the 300 Roadster will be a 293 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, fuel injected, BSVI-compliant engine that is tuned to produce 27 bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 28 Nm mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
According to the release by Classic Legends, the engine is an all-new unit and isn’t related to the Mahindra Mojo’s powertrain. The motor is tuned to provide strong mid-range and a flat torque curve, while the acoustics team has worked relentlessly to get the signature Jawa exhaust note right.
On October 11, Classic Legends unveiled the 293 cc, BS-VI compliant engine that will power the upcoming Jawa 300 Roadster. Mr Anupam Thareja, Founder - Classic Legends, had hinted in September that Classic Legends will commence its India operations with three new Jawa motorcycles.
While details are scarce about the upcoming bikes, we can expect the company to introduce a roadster and a café racer, at least. In September 2018, Thareja had also revealed that the new Jawa motorcycles would be launched in India “before the end of the year,” and the 15 November unveiling is on schedule.

The Jawa 300 Roadster will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Thunderbird 350. We can expect a price tag in the vicinity of INR 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has already received interest from 64 dealers, which could go above 100 by the time the bike launches in India.
