The Jawa 350 OHC is the four stroke version of the Jawa 350 launched in the Czech Republic in May 2017. Mahindra Two Wheelers via Classic Legends, has the exclusive brand licensing agreement with the Czech company for the Indian market. The first of these products, made locally, is the expected to be available only in 2019.
The Jawa 350 OHC is powered by a 397 cc air cooled, single cylinder, SOHC mill. The gearbox is a 5 speed unit. The engine is capable of producing 27.73 PS of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 30.6 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The powerplant has a compression ratio of 8.8:1.
The Jawa 350 OHC gets a 280 mm disc up front and a 160 mm drum unit in the rear, with a single channel ABS in the front wheel. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1,420 mm and a seat height of 760 mm. The front tyre specification is 100/90-19 while the rear gets a 130/70-18 spec unit. The bike has a 12 litre fuel tank and a dry weight of 160 kg.
Design of the retro styled Jawa 350 OHC is complete with circular chrome mirrors, dual exhaust, and a twin pod instrumentation. The spoke rims add to the beauty of the motorcycle.
The Jawa-Yezdi brand needs no introduction to auto enthusiasts in India. Motorcycles with the said badging were retailed in India till as late as 1996. What will be interesting to watch is how Mahindra positions Jawa to the new generation of bikers.
