Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced the launch of its 250th Commercial Vehicles (CV) Showroom. The latest outlet in the company's CV retail chain is located in Dehradun.
As per the manufacturer, its Commercial Channel is the fastest growing automobile retail channel in the country. With the introduction of the latest dealership, it now covers over 193 cities.
Speaking on commercial vehicle segment and the Super Carry, Mr R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said -
Within the LCV segment, the mini truck segment comprises close to a third of the sales. It has been growing at a CAGR of 21% during the last four years. Super Carry has been developed specifically for India, keeping in mind the unique requirements of the Indian mini truck customer. The Company’s Commercial Channel is the fastest growing channel in India and is amply supported by the extensive Maruti Suzuki Service network. This enables our customer to always be on the move in life and in business.
As per the manufacturer, the Super Carry has clocked over 20,000 unit sales its launch in July 2016. While the first 10,000 sales took 18 months, the next 10,000 orders were garnered in a span of little over six months. The LCV measures 3.8-metres in length, 1.56-metres in width, and 1.86-metres in height. It has a payload capacity of 740 kg, ground clearance of 175 mm and a turning radius of 4.3 meters.
Powering the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry is a 793cc two-cylinder diesel engine that made its debut on the Maruti Celerio. It produces a maximum power of 32 hp at 3,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 75 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It has a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.07 km/l. Suspension duties are courtesy of independent MacPherson struts and coil springs in the front and a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear.

On sale at INR 4.14 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry rivals the Tata Ace. Its standard equipment list comprises a mobile charging socket, dual assist grip, odometer, trip meter, fuel meter, digital clock, provision for a stereo, integrated rain guard, sliding back window glass, and spare wheel.
