Even after two decades post its discontinuation in India, the Yamaha RX100 enjoys a very high demand in the second-hand market and is on the mind of every custom bike builder. Here’s a list of top 5 Yamaha RX100 modified bikes in India.

Yamaha RX100 Modified into Twin Cylinder ‘Yamaha RX200’

This Yamaha RX100 twin-cylinder bike is designed and modified by a Mumbai-based Yamaha fanatic, Mr Yusuf Salar Sheikh Bukush. He fondly calls it the ‘Yamaha RX200’ and the motorcycle is modified for his personal use. The bike builder does not plan to make multiple versions of this motorcycle and profit from it.

The Yamaha RX100 modified bike gets a twin-cylinder layout with a dual exhaust system. The builder hasn’t revealed the power and torque figures for the bike but has mentioned that the bike is more potent as compared to a stock Yamaha RX100. The motorcycle receives RD 350-spec ‘Made in Japan’ spark plugs.

The RX200’s chassis is modified to accommodate the twin-cylinder engine, while it also gets a bigger fuel tank. Stopping power comes from twin disc brakes up front and imported Italian-made AJP twin-piston callipers.

Most of the parts used on the custom Yamaha RX100 are stock. The motorcycle features telescopic front forks and twin spring-loaded shock absorbers at the back. Braking is aided by drum brakes at both the ends.

The Yamaha RX100 ‘Yambam’ is a scrambler designed and modified by Pune-based custom motorcycle builder, Nomad Motorcycles. The RX100 modified bike features a scrambler-style fuel tank and tail section with wide handlebar and chopped fenders. The custom RX100 comes sporting a camouflage paint scheme and matte black treatment to the engine, wheels, suspension and swing arm.

The Yamaha RX100 ‘Yambam’ scrambler features a vertically stacked headlight, Yamaha FZ-sourced front telescopic forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the back. Anchorage is provided by disc brakes at both the ends. The bike gets a custom swing arm and wire-spoke wheels and knobby off-road tyres.

Yamaha RX100 Café Racer by Ironic Engineering

This particular Yamaha RX100 has been graciously modified by Ironic Engineering into a cafe racer. The motorcycle features custom bodywork with a dual-tone red and silver paint scheme. The bike is designed with a tear-drop fuel tank, café racer-style single-seat, and clip-on handlebars.

The custom RX100 Café Racer features a circular headlight sporting a short visor, engine fairing and side cowls with ‘49’ racing numbers. The overall height is increased by using larger wire-spoke wheels and a taller rear suspension. The bike uses telescopic front forks and twin coil-spring shocks at the back.

The motorcycle gets a tanned brown leather seat, chopped front fender, an after-market free flow air filter and black paint treatment to the engine, wheels, and chassis.

Hyderabad-based Ironic Engineering presents a mean-looking Yamaha RX100 scrambler. This RX100 modified bike features the legendary Speed Block livery, while the bike is named ‘Baby Blue.’ The bike comes with a raise suspension setup, knobby off-road tyres and wire-spoke wheels.

As far as design is concerned, the RX100 gets a custom fuel tank, raised handlebar, vertically-stacked headlight, and raised tail section and a single-piece seat. The bike features chopped mudguards at the front and back and an under-seat exhaust system.

The Yamaha RX100 'Baby Blue' gets a custom-made swing arm, off-road style foot pegs and an expansion chamber on the exhaust unit. Suspension duty is handled by telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. Braking power comes from a front disc brake and a rear drum setup. The bike also gets a canvas saddle bag fitted to the tail section.

As a reminder, the stock Yamaha RX100 sources power from a 98 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-stroke motor that pairs to a 4-speed transmission. The engine is capable of pumping out a maximum power of 11 bhp at 7,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 10.39 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Yamaha introduced the RX100 in India in 1985, while the sales stopped in 1996. However, the RX100 still found a cult following in the market.
