Datsun GO-Cross Concept unveiled - IAB Report
Based on the Datsun Go+.
Following a teaser of the headlamp, Datsun has finally revealed the Datsun GO-Cross Concept at Nissan's global headquarters during the Tokyo Motor Show 2015. For now, Datsun has not green lit the production of the GO-Cross.
The Datsun GO-Cross concept has the characteristic modern styling of Datsun, featuring a large hexagonal grille with thick chrome bezel, sleek headlamps with separate round lighting underneath, a rugged bumper with black plastic extensions, roof rails and black plastic wheel fenders.
It is based on the Datsun GO+, and gives an idea as to what a crossover/SUV from Datsun could look like. Being a concept, there are no powertrain details for the GO-Cross.
Vincent Cobee, Global Head of Datsun, has further re-confirmed that the next Datsun will launch in early 2016, and be based on the CMF-A platform that underpins the Renault Kwid.
Thus far, Datsun has sold 114,000 cars worldwide since its re-entry in 2014. The brand sells the Datsun Go and Datsun Go+ in India at the moment. Apart from catering to the domestic market, the Indian plant also exports the Datsun Go to markets like Nepal and South Africa.
