Datsun has reportedly started accepting orders for the Datsun Go Cross in Indonesia ahead of its official launch before the end of 2017. AutonetMagz reports that the production version of the Go Cross concept will be introduced earlier than anticipated.
The Datsun Go Cross is essentially a crossover variant of the Go+ compact MPV. It was unveiled in concept form in October 2015, followed by an appearance at the 2016 Auto Expo in India. Indonesian media expected the crossover to arrive in 2018. However, according to the latest report, the car will be introduced before the end of this year.
Powering the Datsun Go Cross will be the same 1.2 L petrol engine that does duty on the Go and Go+. Aside from the standard 5-speed manual transmission, Datsun will offer the Go Cross with a CVT as well. In case of the Go and Go+, this 1,198 cc mill generates 69 PS and 104 Nm.
A report from June 2016 suggests Datsun will give the Go Cross a new dashboard, different from the one the Go and Go+ currently feature. The Datsun Go Cross will offer a new ‘connected car’ interior.
