The Datsun GO Cross has been spotted testing on the road for the first time in Indonesia. AutonetMagz has shared spy shots of the GO+ based crossover that will, reportedly, be unveiled before the end of December 2017.
While the test mule is entirely covered in camouflage, the shape of the grille and the headlamps is partially visible. The nose appears to be similar to the GO Cross concept. The rear section and the partially visible tail lamps seem identical to the GO+.
The emergence of these spy shots of the rear end hint at the possibility that the images that surfaced earlier this week were indeed that of the production-spec GO Cross and not just an accessorised GO+, as the source claimed. The car in both sets of images appears to be shod with the same alloy wheels.
In Indonesia, the Datsun GO Cross will reportedly go on sale with the GO and GO+'s 1.2 L Petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic variant equipped with a CVT will also be offered.
Datsun is expected to bring the GO Cross to Indian sometime in 2018. While the GO+, at 3,995 mm, is a sub-4 m offering, it remains to be seen whether Datsun is able to keep the GO Cross under the small car length limit or not. The changes to the nose might lead to an increment in length.
